Volunteer TEFL Jobs
- English Teaching Positions around the World
Be aware that
many volunteer agencies will charge you a fee for participating in their
programs - be sure to read the "fine print" with any placement. You
can generally guess which agencies are really trying to help people and
which are just trying to "make a buck" by the size of their fees. It
does cost an organization money to house and feed you. If they don't
charge anything they are taking food or jobs away from the local people by
spending it on you. Look for the happy medium where you pay for your
expenses.
A wonderful way
to experience a few months in the Caribbean . . .
Teach two children in exchange for room and board on a small island off
the cost of Nicaragua.

TEFL Jobs Now.
Even as the posting ages the need continues, so use their contact
form in the jobs posting to find out when you might fit in!
The best place
on the Web for locating volunteer positions is at:
Idealist.org The website posts all types of positions,
short-term, long-term, teaching and non-teaching roles and there is a lot
to sort through, but they have a pretty good search engine that will help
you find what you are looking for.
Following is a
list of organizations that routinely accept volunteer applications for
English teachers:
English Opens Doors Project: Chile -
Sponsored by the United Nations Development Program and the Chilean
Ministry of Education, English Opens Doors seeks native and near-native
English speakers to serve as EFL teaching assistants in public

therefore is completely legitimate. They offer placements throughout the
country including Easter Island . We offer two completely fee FREE
summer programs perfect for college students, and also offer 4, 6, 8,
and 12 month placements for 1,000 dollars or less. All placements

Tamilnadu. Their website is not very helpful, so use these contact
addresses: info@odam.in
and/or
odam_95@yahoo.com
Independent Volunteers Organization
usually has
several volunteer teaching opportunities where the fees are only for food
and accommodation. The blue link takes you to their teaching page.
Volunteer South America maintains list of
organizations that accept volunteers. But, you'll need to sort through a
long list in hopes of finding a teaching job.
This list is
not meant to be exhaustive - please let us know of programs that should be
added - our focus here is on volunteer English teaching jobs overseas - not
general volunteering.
Please contact
us at jobs (at) tefltemp (dot) com if you have jobs you would like to have
listed here - or - if you know of good quality volunteer organizations that
should be added to the list.
